The cool weather has moved back in and we are back to early spring temperatures. That is the bad news. The good news is the Toronto Raptors are the well deserved NBA champions despite biased refereeing. It seems the NBA did not want the trophy leaving the USA.
Summer vacation is happening for International schools so my buddy Shaun is back in Canada and Fon and John have just arrived in Vancouver. I hope to get together with both as well as a drunken reunion with Mike, Ashley, and perhaps Gerry for a round of bball talk and trading stories of the past 2 years.
I managed to get a great deal on one way tickets back to Thailand for the three of us. Grand total from Vancouver was $1,262 and that includes all of us. It is with China Eastern Airlines so no air miles, but at that price who cares. I can only assume the plane was full arriving with students and the airline does not want it to go back empty. Travelling to Asia in early September is the time to go!
I am really looking forward to coaching bball this year as my prodigy is now in Grade 8. Yen started as a grade 7 last year, playing against 18 and 19 year olds and holding his own, He should feel much more confident this year and is now hitting treys which should open up his drives. He is a 6 foot shooting guard at this moment in time :-) I also use him in the middle to break presses.
All in all, it is a happy time. I head off to Father's day breakfast with Jaime and Jordan and we are celebrating Jaime's 33rd bday as well.
